Aravind A U is a Senior Project Engineer with the Bio Medical Technology Wing at Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences and Technology (SCTIMST). With over 2.86 years of experience in the field, he has developed a strong foundation in the area of biomedical engineering. His current role involves working on various projects related to medical devices, including design, development, testing, and commercialization. Aravind holds a Master of Technology degree in Manufacturing Engineering from Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) and a Bachelor of Technology degree in Mechanical Engineering from TKM College of Engineering, Kollam. He completed his schooling at St. Thomas Central School. During his academic years, Aravind gained expertise in areas such as CAD/CAM, Finite Element Analysis, and Robotics. Prior to joining SCTIMST, Aravind worked as a Project Trainee at DRDO, where he gained valuable experience in the development of defense-related products. He was responsible for designing and testing various mechanical components and systems. As a Senior Project Engineer, Aravind has been involved in several notable projects, including the development of a low-cost ventilator and an automated CPR device. He has also worked on the design and development of a portable ECG machine and a non-invasive glucose monitoring device.
